Knights Plumbing & Drain recently completed a main water shut-off valve and leak detection upgrade for a homeowner in Modesto, CA. The existing setup included old galvanized piping, which is prone to corrosion and flow restrictions.

To ensure the homeowner has a modern, reliable, and smart plumbing system, we made several key upgrades.

✔️ Cut out old galvanized piping at the main shut-off area

✔️ Installed new brass nipples and a 1” brass ball valve for the main water shut-off

✔️ Mounted and installed a Moen smart leak detection device above the new shut-off valve

✔️ Installed a brand-new hose bib for convenient outdoor access

✔️ Reconnected the system to the home’s existing galvanized line using copper pipe and fittings for a secure, long-lasting transition

✔️ Turned water back on and thoroughly checked for leaks before wrapping up

✔️ Assisted the homeowner in setting up and connecting the Moen app, giving them remote monitoring and real-time leak alerts
